One of our priorities is to ensure that all health care professionals keep ovarian cancer top of mind. We have designed knowledge programs that especially meet the unique needs of this audience. Understanding the difficulties and challenges in detecting ovarian cancer we make sure that women share their stories on how the disease presented itself in their unique situation. These first hand stories create lasting impressions among health care professionals and bring the faces and voices of ovarian cancer survivors into the classrooms of medical students, nursing students and other health professional students to share firsthand experiences of dealing with a devastating diagnosis.
Ovarian cancer survivors are trained to share personal stories to educate medical, nursing and pharmaceutical students on how ovarian cancer might present in actual cases.
