Ovarian Cancer Tissue Banks

Ovarian Cancer Canada raises funds to support a National Ovarian Cancer Tissue Bank. The tissue bank provides material for research, which allows scientists to access ovarian cancer tissue for specific research studies, such as the role of genetic mutations and the influence of hormones. Tissue banks also assist in the testing of potential new drugs and development of systems in which these drugs can be tested.

Ovarian Cancer Canada has provided funding to tissue banks located at:

  • BC Cancer Agency
  • Ottawa Regional Cancer Agency
  • Centre hospitalier universitaire de Montréal (CHUM)
  • Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre – Odette Cancer Centre
