Peggy Truscott Award of Hope

The Peggy Truscott Award of Hope celebrates and acknowledges the dedication of individuals or groups who volunteer to support the mission of Ovarian Cancer Canada. Named after Peggy Truscott, a powerhouse volunteer and founder of the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, the Award recognizes involvement, contributions and/or achievements within the home community of the recipients.
A single recipient was recognized from 2004 until 2019. In 2020, the scope of the award was expanded to honour outstanding volunteers from each of five regions across the country:
- Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, British Columbia, and Alberta – Carrie Bissonnette;
- Saskatchewan and Manitoba – Catterina McDonald;
- Ontario – Gayle Manley and the Zonta Club of Sault Ste. Marie;
- Quebec – Cécile Hryhorczuk; and
- New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador – Jennifer Bowness and Jillian Forbes.
