Enabling research on rare forms of ovarian cancer

With funding from Ovarian Cancer Canada’s OvCAN initiative, Dr. Mark Carey is developing scientific models to advance research on low-grade serous cancer, a rare form of the disease. Models, like these, are tools that mimic the behavior of cancer cells so that scientists can test drugs and further knowledge. But funding, particularly as it relates to rare diseases, can be challenging.
