COVID-19: Update
March 19, 2020
Like so many individuals and organizations across the country, Ovarian Cancer Canada is closely monitoring developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Being a health charity, the safety and well-being of the women and families we support, and also our staff and volunteers, is of utmost importance to us. While we continue to plan for special events and other initiatives across Canada that help to support our vision to see women live fuller, better, longer lives, strengthen our community, and raise vital funds for our mission, we are also prepared to make decisions about these events based on expert and trusted guidance and updates from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
Should new recommendations be shared by public health experts, we will re-assess and update our plans as needed.
We are deeply grateful to our donors and/or ticket holders who planned to attend these events, particularly the fundraisers, which not only raise vital funds for our mission but help to strengthen bonds and connection in our community, ensuring that no woman or affected family members has to face this disease alone. Know that the money raised for these fundraising events through tickets sales and donations thus far, will still support Ovarian Cancer Canada research initiatives and support programs as planned.
If you are planning to attend or would like information about an Ovarian Cancer Canada event, please check our events calendar regularly for any new updates or connect with the appropriate Ovarian Cancer Canada Regional Office for that event.
For everyone’s safety, we encourage all Canadians to continue preventative practices like regular hand-washing, sneezing or coughing into sleeves, avoid touching of eyes, nose, mouth and other practices that you can learn more about at: Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
If you have any questions or concerns about COVID-19, please consult The Public Health Agency of Canada regularly or contact their COVID-19 information line at: 1-833-784-4397 or e-mail: phac.info.aspc@canada.ca
Looking for support?
During this crisis, there are still ways to stay involved with, receive support from, or provide support to Ovarian Cancer Canada.

We are able to do this work because of the generous investments and donations of our community and supporters across the country. While COVID-19 developments continue, we also continue to welcome and accept donations in support of our mission.
As always, we remain grateful to our community, and all Canadians who support our mission to advance progress on ovarian cancer.
Thank you.
