January 23, 2020
Event Update: As a health charity, we consider the safety and well-being of the women and families we support, our staff and volunteers, and our broader community of generous and caring families to be of utmost priority.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, Ovarian Cancer Canada has decided to cancel The Lloydminster Patient and Family Forum, which was scheduled to be held on Friday and Saturday, April 3rd and 4th, 2020.
If you have any questions about your ticket purchase, please contact Tracy Kolwich, Regional Director, British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut at tkolwich@ovariancanada.org, or Stephanie Gosselin, Regional Director, Manitoba and Saskatchewan at sgosselin@ovariancanada.org
Thank you for your understanding as we face this unprecedented situation together.

At Ovarian Cancer Canada we’re committed to ensuring women and their families have all the facts and latest information about this disease. As part of that commitment we’re bringing a patient and family forum to a community near you on April 3- 4, 2020. Well…actually, to the community and greater area of Lloydminster, Alberta. If you or someone you know will be in the area that weekend, we invite you to attend and spread the word!
The forum aims to foster collaboration between patients and clinicians and to provide a space where patients can connect with each other. The event includes a full day of programming for women with ovarian cancer and their family members with updates on research, support resources, and opportunities to hear from and connect with other women affected.
“We’re excited to bring together women and families and leading clinicians and experts at this event,” said Stephanie Gosselin, Regional Director with Ovarian Cancer Canada for Manitoba and Saskatchewan. “We know it can be hard for patients and family members to keep up-to-date with all the latest news, trends, and clinical information about this disease. Sometimes it’s just overwhelming – we’ve created this forum to inform and engage people in an accessible, clear, and positive way.”
Attendees can expect to hear and learn from a number of clinicians and leaders with specific focus and knowledge of ovarian cancer – like Dr. Pippa Hawley – palliative care specialist and medical director for the provincial pain and symptom management program with BC Cancer Agency. Hawley will bring the latest updates and findings from a leading clinical trial about cannabis and patient care.
Gosselin is co-organizing the event with Tracy Kolwich, Regional Director with Ovarian Cancer Canada for British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.
“We know these events are of huge support and value to women and families facing this disease,” said Kolwich. “I’m also looking forward to hearing and learning more from patients directly at this forum. It’s important that there are ongoing platforms for women who want to speak about their experience and influence progress on this disease.”
The registration fee is $25.00 and incudes meals and a conference package.
