Make a difference in your community

Ovarian cancer in Canada has many different faces.

You can help to bring attention to this cause in your community by being an Ovarian Cancer Canada spokesperson. If you are comfortable sharing your story in the media or online and are interested in being media trained by a member of the Ovarian Cancer Canada team, please fill out this online form to help us get to know you.

  • Spotlight this cause and involvement via media and interview opportunities
  • Make connections in your community by being a guest speaker at events or volunteering to support an event 
  • Share your story on social media and ensure this important cause gets attention

Become a volunteer 

Volunteers have the power to make a difference in the lives of people across the country affected by this disease. When you volunteer with us, you become part of our teal community, working together to make change a reality. Please consider becoming an Ovarian Cancer Canada volunteer by donating your time or talents.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope committee: Help organize Walk logistics, gain community support, obtain sponsors and manage or support on-site activities on Walk day. 
  • Event support: From logistics to registration to sponsorship at events across the country, you can support events planned by Ovarian Cancer Canada in your community.  
  • Donating your time and services in support of this cause: Photography, videography and other donated skills can be used to spur our community to action. 
  • Speak at virtual or in-person events and sessions on behalf of Ovarian Cancer Canada: By sharing your experiences you show others affected they are not alone and put a face to the disease for supporters. 
  • And much more.

Are you a student looking to gain experience or as part of your school requirements?

Are you a student studying in the field of health, events management, administration, government relations, or marketing and communications? Let’s connect! The Ovarian Cancer Canada team is eager to work with students to support their education and gain real experience working within a nonprofit.  Please apply to become a volunteer and complete your student placement with Ovarian Cancer Canada.

By sponsoring an Ovarian Cancer Canada event, you can make an impact in your community and beyond. Your sponsorship will allow you to reach key audiences while making a difference in the lives of those affected.
