Event Details
Sorry, this event is at full capacity. If you would like to be added to the wait please reach out to Marianne Fallis, Programs Assosciate, at mfallis@ovariancanada.org.
The Ovarian Cancer Canada Speaker Series features experts from across the country discussing a wide range of topics for women living with ovarian cancer and their families and friends.
Join us on Saturday, December 9 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET for Writing your ovarian cancer story: A narrative medicine interactive workshop .
Writing and sharing your illness story can help you express joy, grief and uncertainty, and can cultivate presence and compassion for both the writer and the listener. Explore the power of words – your own and others – and see how words can be like the best medicine and go right to the site of a need and meet it. Don’t think you can write? Not a problem. You still have a story to tell.
This workshop is interactive, inspiring, inclusive, and encouraging. Bring your pen and paper, tablet, or sketchbook, (and don’t forget your open mind!) and join Paula on a narrative medicine journey. Get ready to listen, write, share, and connect with others experiencing ovarian cancer as we explore and express how our cancer stories are so much more than our medical charts and test results.
As this is an interactive workshop, space is limited so please only register if you will be able to attend. If something comes up and your ability to attend changes please email Marianne at mfallis@ovariancanada.org.
This free event will be hosted on Zoom. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation. You can submit your questions in advance to speakerseries@ovariancanada.org
