Ovarian Cancer Canada provides peer support programs to support those diagnosed and living with ovarian cancer.
From one-on-one connections to group support events, a variety of programs have been created to support your journey. For questions and more information about these programs, please contact Marianne Fallis, Programs Associate, Ovarian Cancer Canada at mfallis@ovariancanada.org.
Teal Teas are monthly, drop-in, peer support group experiences that bring together people living with an ovarian cancer diagnosis. In a friendly and trusting environment, you’re able to share information, experiences and conversation with others on the call to learn from and support each other. You are able to attend as many as you would like. The meetings are moderated by an Ovarian Cancer Canada team member who is there the support the conversation and share resources. Teal Tea discussions are not led nor do they have a specific focus on each call, instead they are shaped by the people who participate and what they need at that point in time.
Our peer-to-peer support program can relieve your worries, answer your questions and help you through your diagnosis. You’ll speak over the phone one-on-one with someone who has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer — someone who truly gets what you’re going through. In every call you’ll gain emotional support, practical advice, and a sense of comfort knowing you’re not alone. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or navigating ongoing treatment, we’ll give you a compassionate, confidential space to be heard and supported by someone who understands.
What you can expect:
- A live conversation with a real person – you’ll be connected by phone with a trained peer who understands what you’re going through.
- A safe space to talk – share your thoughts and feelings with someone who understands, free from judgment or pressure.
- Practical insight – chat with someone who has faced similar medical, emotional, and personal challenges.
- Flexible support – connect by phone, video call, email, or text—whatever feels right for you and your peer volunteer.
- Empowerment through connection – many participants say the greatest benefit is simply knowing they are not alone.
