Staging is the process of finding out how widespread the cancer is within the body.
If the cancer has spread, the stage describes how far it has spread from the ovaries to other parts of the body.
Stage 1
The cancer has grown in only one or both of the ovaries.
Stage 2
The cancer has spread beyond the ovaries to nearby pelvic organs.
Stage 3
The cancer has spread outside the pelvis.
Stage 4
The cancer has spread outside of the pelvis and abdomen. This is called distant metastasis.
